Smiths Gore undertakes construction management and cost monitoring, primarily for banks, owners and investors. Construction management and cost monitoring involve management of the construction programme, from feasibility through to completion, focusing on the design, cost bid analysis, procurement, overall financial aspects of the project, and certifications of variations and change orders.
During construction, we undertake site inspections to monitor project progress. Based on our initial project analysis, we prepare construction management progress reports and certification of payments on behalf of the client for disbursement to the contractor. These reports include details of the cost of work-in-place, the cost to complete, and the verification of change orders and variations.
We monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for unsatisfactory performance. We will also provide recommendations and institute measures for improvement by modification of operating procedures and work instructions, along with implicit variations and change orders.
We also provide expert witness testimony, litigation support, cost and damage assessment, and delay and disruption analysis.
